WELCOME TO BIRDING THE CRANE CREEK -
MAGEE REGION OF NORTHWEST OHIO
The
Lake Erie shoreline in northwestern Ohio is widely
recognized as one of the best birding areas in North
America. Birders from all over the continent come here
in May to see concentrations of warblers and other
migratory songbirds. Actually, this region offers
excellent birding all year, especially during the
migration seasons from late February to early June and
from July through November.
These
birding pages are offered as a public service of the
Black Swamp Bird Observatory to help birders make the
most of their visits to our home area. We are endlessly
fascinated by the exciting birdlife, the spectacle of
migration, and the beauty of the natural habitats in
this region, and we are eager to share these treasures
with anyone who is willing to appreciate them.
