HELP BUILD OUR WINDOW ON WILDLIFE/
CLASSROOM AND NATIVE PLANT GARDEN
On World Migratory Bird Day, May 13, Tom Bartlett will conduct the 28th annual Big Sit fundraiser for BSBO’s educational programs. Tom will spend 12 hours (5 a.m. to 5 p.m.) tallying all the birds he sees or hears from one location next to the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area Boardwalk. Those willing to support the Big Sit and BSBO’s education programs can make a donation now, or pledge an amount per each bird species that Tom sees or hears that day.

Thanks to the generosity of caring people like YOU, BSBO was able to raise the funds to construct our new Education Center! The concrete has been poured, the lumber and steel are on the ground, and we’re just waiting for the final permits to clear for construction to begin.
Now, your help is needed to add a fabulous WINDOW ON WILDLIFE/CLASSROOM AND NATIVE PLANT GARDEN featuring an extensive waterfall and shallow stream, native plants, a bird feeding area, and sound system that will not only create a space where students of all ages can conduct bird studies, but also a fabulous destination where visitors, like YOU, can enjoy and photograph birds!

us hit our goal of $35,000 to match the grant we received

Our Beautiful Window on Wildlife/Classroom and Native Plant Garden
Will Impact BSBO’s Mission by:
Expanding and enhancing our school programs:
Our Education Director, Becca Mathews, has a vision to create hands-on learning stations where students will explore and research various aspects of bird migration. The Window on Wildlife will provide an immersive space for students to study and observe bird behavior.
Providing a fabulous place for the public to enjoy and photograph birds:
Helping people fall in love with birds is what BSBO does best! The Window on Wildlife will create a space where you can enjoy birds in a beautiful, peaceful setting. And, we’re making plans with our partners at Shores & Islands Ohio to install a live streaming bird cam - so you can enjoy the birds at BSBO 24 hours a day, no matter where you are!
