Black Swamp Bird Observatory would not exist without our amazing team of volunteers. Together, we're helping thousands of people fall in love with birds and birding and accomplishing important goals for bird conservation.
Whether you give your time during The Biggest Week In American Birding, volunteer in the banding station, help make BSBO's Ohio Young Birders Club possible, assist with the highway clean-up, or all of the above (!!!), we're so grateful for your time and dedication to the BSBO mission.

Volunteer Appreciation Day Schedule
We'll begin the day with an accessible guided field trip to Howard Marsh Metropark and/or Magee Marsh Wildlife Area
Time: 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Meeting location: Watch for an email closer to the date with the meeting location depending on the recent bird activity.
Potluck lunch at Eagle's Nest Hall, Oak Harbor
Time: 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Location: Eagle's Nest Hall, 210 Jefferson St., Oak Harbor

Menu: BSBO will provide the main course (with vegetarian option) and drinks. Please bring your favorite dish or dessert to share. Please email [email protected] to arrange drop-off for foods that need refrigerated during the field trip.

Time: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Remarks by BSBO staff and board, Conservation Service Award and Volunteer of the Year Award presentations, and then we ask everyone afterward for a group photo.
Optional Bird Bingo with FREE prizes and socializing!
Time: 2:30-3:30 p.m.
