Saturday morning bird banding and group discussion will take place at Black Swamp Bird Observatory (13551 W. SR 2, Oak Harbor) with breakfast provided.

Sunday morning attendees should meet in the western parking lot at Davis Besse (between the main entrance building and road leading back to the cooling tower) to attend the field trip into Navarre Marsh Banding Station.

All other activities will take place at the main conference building at Davis Besse Nuclear Power Plant.

CALL FOR PAPERS AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

​Papers and posters on any aspect of bird banding are invited. All presenters are encouraged to submit an abstract for the meeting program and subsequently for publication in North American Bird Bander. 

Presentations are to be planned for 20 minutes including questions. The abstract submission deadline is September 1, 2022.  Please submit abstracts electronically as a MS Word or PDF to markshieldcastle@bsbo.org. Or mail a hardcopy to:

SATURDAY EVENING KEYNOTE
​BY DR. AURIEL FOURNIER  

Dr. Auriel Fournier is the Director of the Forbes Biological Station and an Assistant Research Scientist with the Illinois Natural History Survey. Auriel completed her PhD with the Arkansas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at the University of Arkansas in 2017. She then joined the Gulf of Mexico Avian Monitoring Network as a postdoc, working on using structured decision making to better integrate bird monitoring. Auriel is one of the founding members of the Ohio Young Birder’s Club. Her research work focuses on how we can better manage our public and private wetlands for a wide suite of wetland birds.

Founded in 1922, the Inland Bird Banding Association is an organization for all who are interested in the serious study of birds, their conservation and ecology.  Organized initially for bird banders in the central United States and Canada, the Association’s activities and publications are of such broad interest that there are now members in most states and many nations.
